Recommendations for the beginner

In this selection you will perhaps miss a few species which you already know and have. Well distributed are e.g. Euphorbia trigona, E.grandicornis, E.canariensis and E.pseudocactus. These species are certainly beautiful but have the disadvantage of growing into large and cumbersome plants in a short time and will not fit onto the window sill anymore. The joy with your plants therefore soon turns into a problem.

The species I am introducing here will not give you such problems.

They all

- stay small and handy for many years,

- are easy to care for and resistant to disease and pests,

- are a representative selection of the many forms of Euphorbia,

- flower even as small plants,

- can be cultivated successfully even on a sunny window sill.

Unfortunately not all these species are easy to come by. I have tried to find several sources and to name substitutes with the same needs and similar beauty as far as possible.
